DESCRIPTION

It is located in the center of the country, in the well known central plateau of Mexico whose limits are marked by the Sierra Madre Oriental and Sierra Madre Occidental. It has a territorial extension of 5,471 km2. and is neighboring Zacatecas to the north and Jalisco to the south.

- Vineyards: 1,332 hectares of which 205 hectares are for wine production and the rest are table grapes and grapes for the production of grape must and grape concentrates.

- Altitude regime: 1,888 masl - 2,004 masl.

PREDOMINANT VARIETIES

Reds: Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Cinsault, Syrah, Nebbiolo, Merlot, Zinfandel and Cabernet Franc.

Whites: chenin blanc, chardonnay, riesling, viognier, grenache blanc, sauvignon blanc and macabeo.

CLIMATE AND SOILS

It has a semi-dry temperate climate and an average rainfall of 500 mm, which requires the use of irrigation in the vineyard. The average temperature is between 22 and 26ºC. There is a great thermal integral throughout the year, which favors the vineyards at higher altitudes and close to the mountains. The vineyard lies on shallow sandy loam soils.

PRODUCTION ZONES

Cosío, Rincón de Romos, Tepezalá, Jesús María, El Llano, Asientos and Pabellón de Arteaga.
