SituaTION

The most “mediterranean” region within Aragón autonomous community, it borders three different provinces (Tarragona, Castellón and Teruel) and is divided in four areas: Campo de Belchite, Bajo Martín, Bajo Aragón and Matarraña. Soils are mainly clay and limestone in nature, very rich in minerals with high potash content. The climate is suitable for the right maturation of the grapes, with the added cooling effect of the ‘Cierzo’ (northerly wind), together with the day-night temperature contrast, just the perfect combination for the vines. The main varieties are garnacha (both red and white), although foreign grapes like syrah, cabernet sauvignon, merlot and chardonnay are also present, as well as tempranillo and cariñena.
