CLIMATE AND SOILS

In this area, due to its size, several types of climates coexist, although the most common is the arid climate. Despite this, it is in the south of the state where most of the vineyards are concentrated, mainly due to the presence of a temperate continental Mediterranean climate with cool winters and warm summers.
Coahuila is dominated by the presence of the Sierra Madre Oriental, a mountain range that crosses the state from north to south. With more than 1,300 kilometers in length, this mountain range has altitudes of up to 3,000 meters above sea level. Along with this characteristic framework of a mountainous area, there are also large desert and semi-desert areas.

PRODUCING AREAS

Most of the area's vineyards are concentrated in the southernmost part of the state, in the municipalities of Parras de la Fuente, Arteaga and Saltillo.
