Cumbres del Guadalfeo Vino de la Tierra / I.G.P.

Formerly known as “Vino de la Tierra de Contraviesa-Alpujarra”, this geographical indication is used for wines made in the wine region located in the western part of the Alpujarras, in a border territory between two provinces (Granada and Almería), two rivers (Guadalfeo and Andarax), and very close to the Mediterranean Sea. The grape varieties used for white wine production are montúa, chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, moscatel, jaén blanca, Pedro Ximénez, vijirego y perruno; for red wines, they have garnacha tinta, tempranillo, cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, merlot, pinot noir and syrah.
