Laujar-Alpujarra Vino de la Tierra / I.G.P.

SituaTION

This wine region is located at an altitude of 800 to 1500 meters between the Sierra de Gádor and the Sierra Nevada Natural Park. It has some 800 hectares of vines grown on terraces. Soils are chalk soils poor in organic matter, rocky and with little depth. The climate is moderately continental, given the sea influence and its high night-day temperature differential. The predominant grape varieties are jaén blanco, macabeo, vijiriego, Pedro Ximénez, chardonay and moscatel de grano menudo (white); and cabernet sauvignon,merlot, monastrell, tempranillo, garnachas tinta and syrah (red).
