GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE WINES

WHITES
These are the most characteristic of the wine region. The wines made from native varieties (treixadura and torrontés, mainly, but also with participation of lado, loureiro and godello) are characterized by a fresh and fruity aroma with notes of green apple, fennel and floral nuances; in the mouth they have a good acidity that makes them very fresh. The whites on lees offer greater volume in the mouth, and are accompanied by a more mature fruity presence, together with hints of withered flowers. As in Rías Baixas, in some cases the passage of time can develop the quality of these wines.

RED WINE
They are a minority compared to the whites. They are based on caiño, sousón, brancellao and mencía blends, which give medium quality reds, with marked herbaceous, somewhat aggressive and sour nuances. The mencía wines, on the other hand, have greater aromatic power; they are fresh, light and pleasant to drink.
