DESCRIPTION
San Juan is located to the north of the province of Mendoza and, like Mendoza, also borders the Andes Mountains to the west. It is the second largest producing province in Argentina, behind Mendoza, with more than 21% of Argentina's vineyards and an altitude ranging from 600 meters to 1,350 meters above sea level.

PREDOMINANT VARIETIES: San Juan has historically been known for the production of rosé and white wines. Currently the predominant variety in this region will be the red variety, as a result of a process of vineyard reconversion initiated in the 1990s.
90. Thus, little by little, the Syrah variety began to gain weight in the area. The most representative varieties in San Juan are syrah, bonarda, cabernet sauvignon and malbec for the red varieties and moscatel de Alejandría, pedro ximénez and torrontés sanjuanino for the white varieties.
CLIMATE AND SOILS
It has a warmer climate than its southern neighbor, but with a high thermal integral due to the influence of the Andes. It is an area with hardly any rainfall, with an average annual rainfall of 10 mm. per year compared to the more than 200 mm. recorded on average in the province of Mendoza.
PRODUCING AREAS
Calingasta (1,165 meters above sea level), Ullum and the Tullom Valley are the most outstanding provinces in the area in terms of quality.
