Zalema
Synonyms: mantĂșo perruno, perruna, rebazo, salemo, zalemo.
It is an native variety of Huelva, with medium budding and late ripening. Zalema is a vigorous vine, productive in poor soils and resistant to drought. However, in several places it has been replaced by palomino fino, considered of higher quality.
It produces fairly neutral wines on the nose with discreet citrus and herbal aromas and very light on the palate. It is an oxidative variety and is therefore mainly used to produce fortified wines in Andalusia.
