Peñín returns to face-to-face events

5 October 2021

With three fairs planned for this autumn, the company will contribute to the reactivation of the sector.

Peñín, the leading organiser of wine events and promoter of Spanish wineries, is returning to face-to-face events after the interruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

For this long-awaited return, three events have been scheduled, two of them in-house events and a third in collaboration with the Bierzo Denominación de Origen. With the return to face-to-face activity, the company aims to do its bit to reactivate the sector's activity, both for wineries and professionals, who have been particularly affected by the closure of the on-trade sector for months.

The most important event will be the Salón de los Mejores Vinos de España (21st Top Wines From Spain Tasting Showroom), which will be held on the 22nd and 23rd of November at IFEMA (Madrid) and which has established itself as the most important event for Spanish wine. This professional event is one of the best promotional platforms for the commercial relations of wineries in Spain. This is the twenty-first edition of the event and already has more than 300 confirmed participants, all of them with wines rated with 90 points or more in the Peñín Guide. In addition, for the first time at this event, there will be a space dedicated to vermouth.

A week after this Salón de los Mejores, on the 30th of November, Peñín will hold, also in Madrid, the most commercial event: the IX Salón de las Estrellas. Taking place at the Palacio de Neptuno, the event will bring together the wines with the best value for money on the market, i.e. those which have been awarded 3, 4 or 5 stars by the Peñín Guide tasting team for being of good quality at an affordable price.

Even before these two important professional events, on the 25th October, the Salón de los Vinos de Bierzo will take place in Bilbao, a meeting organised by the Regulatory Board of this appellation of origin and organised by Peñín. The Domine Hotel will be the chosen venue for the event, which will be attended by professionals from the sector from all over the Basque Country, Cantabria, Asturias, Navarra, Burgos and La Rioja.

The list of exhibitors for each of these events is updated in real time on our website, a virtual space where professionals can also apply for their pass, as well as find out about the programme of complementary activities, see photos, videos and other details of past editions.

2022 events calendar

Looking ahead to 2022, Peñín is working to close the calendar of national and international events. All these face-to-face events will follow the protocols and security measures established by the authorities at all times, of which both wineries and professionals will be informed in a timely manner.

After almost two years without enjoying direct contact with the main agents, wine will once again occupy the large venues dedicated exclusively to professional activity and contact with the end consumer.
